Is your phone eSIM compatible?
Before you buy, check two things: that your phone has eSIM and that it is unlocked. It takes less than a minute.
The 10-second test

Dial *#06# on the phone keypad
If you see a number called EID (32 digits), your phone has eSIM. If you only see IMEI, it doesn't.

iPhone: Settings → General → About
Scroll to the bottom: if you see «EID» or a «Digital SIM» section, it's compatible.

Android: Settings → Connections (or Network & internet) → SIMs
If there's an «Add eSIM» or «Download a SIM» option, it's compatible.
The phone must also be unlocked (not locked to your carrier). If you bought it on a plan from a carrier, ask them.

From iPhone XR/XS onwards. iPhones sold in mainland China (and some from Hong Kong and Macao) don't have eSIM.

How do I know if my phone has eSIM?
Dial *#06#: if an EID appears, it has eSIM. You can also look in Settings → General → About (iPhone) or in the SIM settings (Android).
Does my phone need to be unlocked?
Yes. A phone locked to a carrier won't accept other carriers' eSIMs. If you're not sure, ask your carrier.
Can I use my physical SIM and the eSIM at the same time?
Yes, most eSIM phones allow two lines: your SIM for calls and WhatsApp, and the eSIM for your travel data.
What if my model isn't on the list?
The list is a guide. Do the EID test: if it appears, your phone is compatible even if it's not on the list.
