Andes Signal

How to activate your eSIM data

Installing the eSIM is only half the job. When you arrive there are two settings almost every phone has turned off: choosing the eSIM for data and turning on its data roaming. Without them you won't have internet even though the eSIM is installed.

Before you travel

  • Install the eSIM on Wi‑Fi, from the QR or the «Install on iPhone» button. You can do it days in advance: the plan starts counting when you connect at your destination.
  • Give the line a name, for example «Andes Signal», so you can find it in Settings.
  • If you're not travelling yet, leave it off. Don't delete it: a QR can only be installed once.

When you arrive

  1. 1

    Turn on the eSIM line

Settings → Cellular → Andes Signal

Turn on «Turn On This Line».

  2. 2

Turn on data roaming for the eSIMKey

Settings → Cellular → Andes Signal → Data Roaming

Switch it on. It comes off, and without it the eSIM won't connect abroad. It doesn't add charges: the plan is already paid.

  3. 3

    Choose the eSIM for dataKey

Settings → Cellular → Cellular Data

Select Andes Signal and turn off «Allow Cellular Data Switching» so the phone doesn't go back to your home line.

  4. 4

    Protect your home line

Settings → Cellular → your home line → Data Roaming

Keep it off so your carrier doesn't charge you roaming. The line can stay on for calls, SMS and WhatsApp.

Still no internet?

Check the two key settings

The eSIM must be your data line and have data roaming on. This fixes almost every case.

Toggle airplane mode

Turn it on, wait 10 seconds and turn it off. If nothing changes, restart the phone.

Pick the network manually

iPhone: Settings → Cellular → Andes Signal → Network Selection; turn off «Automatic» and choose another network. Android: Mobile networks → Network operators → Search.

Set the APN

If you have signal but can't browse, check the APN. iPhone: Settings → Cellular → Andes Signal → Cellular Data Network. Android: Mobile networks → Access Point Names → Add.

Make sure you're at your destination

The eSIM only connects in the countries your plan covers. At home you'll see «No service», which is normal.

If you're asked for it, the APN is on your order page, under «Usage».
